HALIBUT

At the time of this writing, approximately 28% of the halibut TAC has been landed, with most landings occurring in 2C and 3A. Recent reports from 3A indicate mediocre catch rates. Dock price has improved slightly since late spring. There has been little in the way of QS sales activity in the past month. Availabiity continues to be steady. With many harvesters focused on salmon in the near term, we expect activity to remain modest over the next month.

SABLEFISH

At the time of this writing, 31% of the sablefish TAC has been landed. Sales activity is slow as ex-vessel prices remain soft, particularly for small fish. Fishing reports indicate steady but slowing catch rates. We expect market activity to remain diminished until effort increases in the fall or an unforeseen improvement in ex-vessel price.
